Dear Cranwellians,

I have spoken recently to the sculptor of the Trenchard Memorial Statue, and despite some Coronavirus-induced problems at the foundry, she is confident of meeting comfortably the new timescales.

I should like to thank those of you who responded positively to my last missive, requesting a final push to ensure we have not only adequate funds for the statue and fittings, but also a small reserve for contingencies and routine maintenance. As you will recall, priority for places at the unveiling, including invitations, will be reserved to those who have made a contribution. The books close on 1 April, so do please dig deeply and help us make this campaign the success it deserves; and, at the same time, guarantee yourselves an invitation to the unveiling and the events surrounding it.

In the meantime, stay safe, and we hope you will enjoy and appreciate the measures we are taking to help each other through this challenging period.

Warm Regards
